I would hate to come back from my vacation to my house being fried. =[ As for playing the Sims without any expansions...I'm in the same boat as you. On my computer whenever I download expansions, it doesn't wanna cooperate and ends up crashing. Then after awhile, whenever my sim toddlers turned into sims, it would crash in the middle of saving. So I just totally deleted the entire game off of my computer, and had to re-download the sims game about 3 times to get it to work. I have giving up trying to add expansions to the game. I hate Open For Bussiness & Family Fun expansions for my sims 2. But I'm glad to see you started another legacy. I have so much fun reading them and doing them.
