The Legecci Family — a Classic Legacy

September 12th, 2007 | Categories: Classic, Legacy

So, it’s like this — while I was away on vacation, our house was struck by lightning. we lost… well, a shitload of stuff and i am still going through the painful process of getting things fixed and containing our insurance company.

My desktop computer, wherein resided my Sims and all the expansions that I loved, was one of systems lost to the lightning. Mike the Computer Guy (as opposed to Larry, the Cable Guy) says that the hard drive and all my data in intact and safe, but that my motherboard and everything attached to it is completely frelled on levels of astronomical proportions.

So, in a fit of withdrawal, I uploaded just the base game to my laptop and started a new Legacy.

I apologize in advance for the lack of… expansions, good graphics, and downloads.

My founder, Anna Maria Legecci. Cancer (5′s all the way around), Fortune Sim, no Lifetime Want (because the base game didn’t come with those), and not a penny more than $20,000 to her name.

Her empty lot, upon which she built a foundation with stairs and then added one wall, a, bed, stove, counter, fridge, toilet, sink, shower, paint easel, and a cheap couch.

She got a job as an EMT, which was grueling work and she was also coming home tired.

Sometimes too tired.

However, she still found time to meet her new neighbors in Legacy Bay and even met the guy she imagined was the ‘man of her dreams’…

Goopy Gilscarbo?

Anna Maria should have run for the hills rather than get involved with Goopy, but she had -10/-4 relationship with Kennedy Cox after their first meet and all the good looking townies came with Nightlife.

So, she invited him to move in and he brought in a whopping $15,000! Which they prompted used to build a real, but sparsely furnished house on the foundation. Goopy started getting nervous when Anna Maria wanted a huge sunken nursery (my favorite type of nursery), but hey! There was woo hoo involved and The Goopmiester is a Romance Sim, so they got busy.

Goopy got really busy… with Jan Tellerman (another Romance Sim, I’ve learned from years of experience and heartache). Jan and Goopy seem to have quite a thing going and from the moment Goopy moved in and had a nice double bed at his disposal, he and Jan have made sure it got used!

Anna Maria was, sadly, too busy planning a wedding and fighting off morning sickness to notice what Goopy was up to. She even failed to question his motives when, one day just before her maternity leave started, she came home to find Goopy making dinner and Jan asleep in her bed! Oh, she asked, but Goopy said Jan’s womrat was keepingher up at night so he offered her a place to stay.

Silly, Anna Maria, womrats come with Pets and you sucked for it, so you’re stuck with him now.

Despite his on-going affair with Ms. Tellerman (she who makes broken homes wherever she goes), Goopy turned out to be a pretty good dad.

Shortly after the wedding, Anna Maria gave birth to a beautiful daughter… Bianca Rose.

… whom Goopy taught to talk, walk and use the toddler potty in between woo-hoo sessions with Jan.

I’m sorry to hear about the lightning strike. :O(( Man … that just … really, REALLY … SUCKS!!!

As for the glitch you’re having, did you download the patch? All of the patches can be found on the main sims 2 website:

    http://thesims2.ea.com/update/?pid=Help_patches

Anyway, man … what’s it like to play with JUST the base game and no custom content?

Ah, Goopy. And Jan. Yup … smokin’ hot romance sims. *grin*

Ugh. I hate Jan Tellerman… and Goopy has the dumbest name ever. :) But his daughter has a beautiful name and she looks rather cute. I hope that Anna Maria realizes that her life is too short to waste on Goopy!

Sorry to hear about the lightening :( I can’t even imagine what it’s like to play w/ just the base game. I thnk I would go crazy without my custom clothes. Your story is awesome and despite who Bianca Rose’s father is, she’s pretty cute! And at least he’s a good dad!

Oh man…that really sucks about the lighning! I would hate to come back from my vacation to my house being fried. =[

As for playing the Sims without any expansions…I’m in the same boat as you. On my computer whenever I download expansions, it doesn’t wanna cooperate and ends up crashing. Then after awhile, whenever my sim toddlers turned into sims, it would crash in the middle of saving. So I just totally deleted the entire game off of my computer, and had to re-download the sims game about 3 times to get it to work. I have giving up trying to add expansions to the game.

I hate Open For Bussiness & Family Fun expansions for my sims 2.

But I’m glad to see you started another legacy. I have so much fun reading them and doing them. I just started my first legacy this week. My founder sim, Merielle married the male Maid. He’s quite a hottie lol!

Sorry I didn’t intend to write you a novel, LMAO! xD
